Description
The Forum was set up in 1997 to provide a "follow-on" for
safety reps coming from TUC education centre courses, and has bi-monthly
training days at which there are around 100 delegates taking part
in conferences and workshops. The programme is planned by a working
group which includes workplace reps; full time officers from the regions
union; and representatives from trade union law firms and the Health
& Safety Executive and is open to all interested delegates. It
is administered by the regional TUC secretariat and reports to the
regional TUC executive.
Since 2007 it has supported
the growing regional TUC environmental representatives' network
whose members also take part in the training days and the working
group.
