Memorial service and celebration of the life of Simon Pickvance

The memorial service and celebration of the life of Simon Pickvance will be held from 2pm till 5pm on Tuesday 4th December at Crookes Social Club, Mulehouse Road, Sheffield, S10 1TD.

There will be an informal, non-religious ceremony with the opportunity for people to talk briefly about Simon. A bar will be open before and after the ceremony. A buffet will follow the ceremony. All are welcome. Although we will try and allow for people to talk spontaneously if you would like to speak please let Simon's son Benny know by emailing bjpgamsu@yahoo.co.uk. Please don't be offended if we have to limit the numbers speaking or the length of time people can speak for. 

The club is easily accessible from the centre of Sheffield on the 52 bus which leaves regularly from the bus stop in front of HSBC bank on Sheffield High Street. It's a 10-15 minute bus ride getting off at the Brick Street bus stop in front of the Ball Inn, it's then a five minute walk to the club. There is a car park in front of the club off Mulehouse Road as well as a car park around the back off Midfield Road. Taxis from Sheffield train station will cost £8 or you could book a cab (Mercury taxis 0114 266 2662) which will be slightly cheaper.

If you would like to leave a message in memory of Simon please use the online memorial site accessible through the pages of the Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory Service http://sohas.co.uk/ The family are hoping to collate these in a memorial booklet to give out at the funeral but we are still arranging this and haven't confirmed any details. There will be a collection after the service for the International Ban Asbestos Secretariat. We are happy to receive cards and letters but please no gifts or flowers. Your words of support and solidarity are more than enough. Thank you for all of your messages.
