MESOTHELIOMA DAY: NATIONAL ASBESTOS CONFERENCE
27 February 2006 9.30am-4.00pm
Clydebank Town Hall

From: Clydebank Asbestos Group

Colleagues and Friends

Following a seminar which was organised by the British Lung Foundation in London earlier this year it was decided that 27 February 2006 would be recognised as Mesothelioma Day. In order to ensure that this day is a resounding success and achieves the required impact throughout the UK it has been decided to organise a National Asbestos Conference in Clydebank. The conference will promote the Mesothelioma Charter initiated by the British Lung Foundation. See a PDF of the conference agenda and booking details here.

• This event will highlight this international health phenomenon through a faculty of internationally-renowned contributors invited from Europe, South Africa, Canada as well as outstanding speakers from the UK.

• The conference should be attended by trade union officials, health & safety representatives, shop stewards, hazards campaigners, solicitors, people who have been affected by the scourge of asbestos, community activists and other interested parties.

Clydebank Asbestos Group and supporting organisations have agreed; in order to ensure that this event is accessible for asbestos victims, bereaved relatives and other groups on limited incomes there will be no charge for delegates. Therefore we are asking trade union branches, commercial companies and other organisations sending representatives to consider making a contribution towards the costs of the conference.

• Organisations requiring a stall at this event please contact us without delay.

• Further information and advanced booking details from: Clydebank Asbestos Group, 8 Crown Avenue, Clydebank G81 3BW; TEL: 0141 951 1008 all donations will be promptly acknowledged.

Yours sincerely

Bob Dickie, Chairman
Clydebank Asbestos Group
